Do you love BOOKS?

Do you love VACATIONS?

Well, you're in the right spot!

(Cruise Line LINK COMING SOON!!!!)

What is Once Upon A Book Cruise?

Once Upon a Book Cruise is a group I (Amy Horikami) created where authors and readers can come together to have fun with both books and vacations! (Authors, please note: this is NOT a book convention and no book selling will be allowed and is prohibited per the cruise line's policy. See the section about Authors below and how you can contribute.

-There will be set times during ship days when activities will be planned. The itinerary will be sent in advance (but is subject to change).

Activities include (which are not required, but encouraged and FREE to join).

-Book bingo (Book bundle prize)

-Reading in PJS on the deck

-Author questionnaire

- Book Trivia (Book bundle prize)

-Bookmark craft

-White elephant Book exchange (NOTE: to participate, please bring your favorite book to exchange with someone.)

-Formal Night Group Picture

(Note: these are activities that I planned and are not associated with the cruise itself. (Think of a book club on a ship, because that's really all it is.)

How does it work

So, I'm just your Once Upon a Book Cruise Host. I give you the link to the cruise I will be on, and if you would like to join me in the fun activities I've planned, you can purchase the cruise through the link of the cruise line I give you. Think of it as a ton of book friends planning a cruise together, and you come to join the fun! (Each person is in charge of getting their own ticket, transportation to and from the cruise, and any other activities).

(Please make sure to double-check dates, location, and cruise ship name I have given you, so you are not on the wrong boat! We'd hate for you to miss out!)

*NOTE: I am not responsible for any purchases, setbacks, charges, delays, mistakes in purchasing the wrong cruise, lost items while cruising, missing the boat, port fees, and or any fees involved with the tickets.

You will NOT be purchasing the cruise through me, but through the main cruise line link that I provide. (I do not make ANY money off of this!) Think of it as a ton of book friends planning a cruise together, and you come to join the fun!

I'm an AUTHOR, what does this cruise mean for me?

First, that's awesome that you wrote a book. It's a great accomplishment that deserves praise itself! We hope to get as many authors as possible, BUT, you WILL NOT be able to sell your books to other passengers (Cruise policy!) But you can include them in the book exchange, or give them away for FREE!!! (Which is what I will be doing)

(If you want to include some of your books in the prizes, let me know!)

You can also join the AUTHOR QUESTIONNAIRE if you want to answer questions that some people may have about writing, publishing, author journey, ect.)

Otherwise, just come and have fun! Talk about books, read books, get to know others like yourself!

Can I bring friends/family?

Everyone is invited! Remember, you are paying for this vacation! Family and friends are encouraged! (I'll be bringing mine!) However, the events I've planned are 18+ (unless you have an accompanying adult).

(I'm just a girl who wants to do book activities with other book loving friends, and I'm inviting you to join.)

*Check with the cruise line for childcare and their policies (Most cruise lines provide childcare at no extra charge during certain hours).

Will I be able to do other things besides the activities you've planned?

YES! I'm not here to monopolize your time, just have some book fun on ship days! During the time we are in Port, I will not have any activities planned (unless noted.) So, you can spend it with your other book friends, family, or do whatever you please! (Which leads me to my next question...)

What do I need to bring?

While bringing your book is important, there are a few other essentials you'll need. (This is a general list and you may need to adjust accordingly)

NOTE: Passport, ID, Birth certificate (You'll need these to get on and off the ship. Some cruise lines will take just a birth certificate, but double-check!)
